I was in the Psychology department today (just wondering around, I
should make a photoblog of "CSUS - a guide to hiding infrastructure behind
hedge and underfoot"). Anyway, there was a poster showing the housing
pricing disparity between what is colloquially known as "places people
want to move to" and "hell." More specifically, it's a rural vs urban,
republican vs democrat, coke vs pepsi sort of shorthand notation which
doesn't stand up to the merest scrutiny, much like the (by now) infamous
slave states vs 2004 presidential election electoral brouhaha which was
throughly debunked by snopes. To pick a favoured phrase out of a previous
post, what crack addled gradate student convinced some stoned professor
that this fetid pile of dingos kidneys representing a slight difference in
home price (~10%) can directly relate to the number of abortions per capita,
and thus is worth being said crack smokers senior project. Pot hazed
labs indeed. Lost? Think I didn't explain this well? Bah! If I had a
camera phone, I'd have taken a picture of that psychedelic poster (which
they DISPLAYED! The crappiest, most ill-conceived, factually inaccurate
thing I've seen since the last open letter from Darl McBride, and they
show it off like it's King Tut's burial mask. But I digress.) and posted
it alongside. Feh.
In other news this post marks the following:
1) First post from mobile phone (hence the less than stellar spelling
and run-on sentences since there is no preview option).
2) First post from school in general.
3) First use of the email-post capability of lj. We'll see if I
remembered all the suitable incantations. UPDATE: No, I don't apparently
remember the correct info; here goes the second try. Make that third. Good
lord technology can be finicky-- fourth. Oh fuckit, I'll just email this
to my yahoo address and post it later. Stupid fucking technology. Okay,
it's later now. Posting finally.
Oh, and since we are talking about school (well, I am), I got 75% on my
math test! Yea! That brings my overall grade in the class to 68%! Just
need 2 more % to pass! (Well, to get credit; not that it really
matters. I don't really wanna discuss it further.) Furthermore, another math
test on Friday!
And I wonder why I bother studying technology. I suspect since I have a pgp key on file, it won't let me email-post non-signed messages. Anyone have pgp for a Nokia 6800?
