And so another classic hardware manufacturer bites the dust. SGI's headstone is carved, with just the final date needing to be filled in.

And now, I'm saddled with hardware that needs to be hooked to a taser and a timing device, so as to migrate the data to applications made in this decade.

IRIX will not be forgotten...

MIPS will live on for a few more years since the only thing being killed are the servers. Damn Linux resellers.

I think I actually have an adapter for that, in the lab in Folsom somewhere. Let me know if you need to borrow it, I'm sure M5 would be willing to loan it out. ;-)

M5 industries makes all the cool shit. Maybe I'll just get a blueprint from them next time I'm on that side of 280?

Bwhahaha yeah, you were with us when Jon took that pic, weren't you? I haven't gotten to try out any of their dishes yet, perhaps the next time you're in town? I can't get Dan to go there with me, yet... ;-)

Wrong M5, unfortunately - we have so many Michaels on our team, we've had to number them. Currently there's 3 out of 9 people that report to my boss - Mik3, Michael4, and M5. M5 (being the last numbered, so the newest) is the poor sucker who got saddled with the lab when they decided that I'd proven myself and got to do real engineering work, instead of the shit that no one else wanted to do... but since we seem to have at least one of everything in there, I'm sure we can dig up any adapter that you might possibly need. Aramaic to 1000-BaseT? Got it. Fiber to token ring? Got it. 3-phase 20kV to nipple clamp? Got it, locked up in the cabinets.
